My story

Meet Huey the hound dog! He's a handsome boy who is approximately 2.5 years old. A good medium sized pup at less than 50lbs he won't take up too much room in your home though of course he'll fill your heart to overflowing! Huey is a very sweet, polite and outgoing dog. He would be a great pet for all ages. He's a friendly hound dog who would make a great family dog. Huey is the kind of dog that would be a great first dog if you've never owned one before. He's got such a fabulous demeanor and has been good with other dogs of all sizes. You're going to want to come in and meet this boy for yourself!! What are you waiting for?? Huey is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $35.We do have a 'slumber party' program which allows you to take a dog home before adopting to see if they are a good fit for your family. There is no cost or commitment for this - we provide the supplies, you provide the love! Not sure which pet you're interested in? Our adoption counselors will help you find the perfect fit.Come adopt from the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM), a progressive animal welfare organization located in Gulfport, MS. Each year HSSM houses approximately 10,000 homeless pets. Every day we are fighting a space capacity crisis as we try to care for the overwhelming amount of abandoned local pets. Please consider visiting our shelter to adopt your next best friend.
